Jane Appleton is an artist that refuses to adhere to boundaries.

In a world where art is often accompanied by a text or discussion to explain the thinking Jane gives you as the viewer the choice to interpret her work.

From jewellery to mixed media to oils, Janes creativity and style cannot be constrained by borders.

Born in Yorkshire in 1968, Jane has spent her whole life creating, producing her first commercial works at the age of nine.

After studying contemporary jewellery at Epsom she went on to Brighton to study three dimensional design in wood, metals, ceramics and plastics.

With this knowledge and love of diverse materials she embraces each new image with fresh eyes and its creation becomes a new exciting experience where anything is possible.

The use of ever-changing techniques not only reflects the reality of the world around her but also highlights its colours and energy. By paying particular attention to the small every day details which often go unnoticed Jane has created a fresh and original style full of spirit and optimism!

she recently spent three years creating affordable art in the Languedoc region of the south of France and during this time joined in with the art community of the region to give accessible art to all.

She is now back to her 'artistic' home and has been creating her 'Use Your Imagination' series which will be exhibited internationally.

Jane lives in the south of France with her husband.
